Civilization

Civilization Devastation (June 25, 2004)

In our ‘secondary’ societies
People are ranked by influence-on-politics-importance,
In ‘primary’ societies
People are ranked by economic importance,
And in ‘uncivilized’ societies
It is probable that people are not ranked
So it might be that they are all equally important;
All brothers and sisters!
And it is often said that taking off all clothing
Would undo all hierarchy
And so nudity is synonymous for
Advancement.
What? …
Devastation
Nothing left to fantasize
No sensuality
That would take life out of life!
So might it be that the
Dress-up for importance
Conceals a hunger for hunger’s sake???

Civilization Devastation Conversion (June 26, 2004)

Frustration is a part of life
That can be fruitful
As it can be turned to energize
Intellectual, Creative, Athletic or Group Expression
As long as it finds its origin
On a level
On top of Satisfied Basic Needs!

The question remains … What Needs are Basic?

And then as it seems
We can conclude that
Our societies’ dress-up of
This life-giving energy
Is (just) a less-value-creating
Variation on
The more economically
Oriented conversion of
Frustration
That constitutes what
We call First World.

‘Civilization Devastation Conversion’ Cont’d
(June 29, 2004)

And Again
The question remains …
What Needs are Basic …
What measurement will we define?
Would fulfillment have to
Rescue us from death
Or does saving from
Insanity count as well?
And how full would the need
Have to be filled?
Whose daily meal is the norm?
And can we choose each provider?
